Cheryl McMickle                                                     Nikki Kalcevic

Cheryl McMickle has been an art educator since 1991. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1986 and earned her Master’s from Oklahoma University in 1997. She has taught in the Arkansas Delta for nearly 20 years and the last 7 of those have been at Forrest City High School.
Cheryl has been a member of AAE/NAEA for 15 years. She has presented numerous times at the state conference as well as at Great Rivers Coop. She served as Regional Director of the Eastern Region and currently serves as AAE Member at Large. She served on the 2014 Arkansas Fine Arts Revision Team and was selected as the 2014 Arkansas Secondary Art Educator of the Year.
Cheryl lives in Marianna with her husband, Jim and their chocolate lab, Bunny.

Nikki F. Kalcevic
I have a BA in Studio Art, Instructional Elementary Education Certification for grades preK-6, and M.Ed. in Art Education and Art Education Certification preK-12. I hold National Board Certification in Early Adolescence-Young Adulthood ART. I teach grades 5 and 6 in Bentonville, Arkansas at Ardis Ann Middle School, and was honored to be the 2014-2015 Arkansas Art Educator of the Year. I am currently serving as AAE Middle Level Representative & Vendor Coordinator, as well as NAEA Western Region Middle Level Director. I am also mommy to a 4.5 year old daughter and two furry dog kiddos, wife to the best husband, and like to repurpose vintage jewelry and buttons into new jewelry designs.

Emily Powell  Carpenter is certified to teach grades P-12 under an Arkansas Educator's License. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching degree in 2014 and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with an emphasis in graphic design, both from the University of Central Arkansas. She is a National Art Education Association member as well as a part of the Arkansas Art Educators organization. She has attended the annual AAE Fall Conference for all 3 years of her membership and has presented once. She is recognized by membership in Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education. She is also an active member in the Junior League of Little Rock where she is Editor of the Publications Committee.

Ms. Powell is very excited to be in her third year of teaching this year with all 6th grade classes at North Little Rock Middle School where she is also an official ClassDojo mentor. Last year, she taught grades 6, 7, and 8 at Lakewood Middle School, and her first year was in the Dollarway School District teaching grades 1 through 5. Before teaching, she worked as a professional website developer and graphic designer in a corporate setting. Her personal art interests are in graphic design, web design, collage, and process drawing.

James Kunzelmann taught eighth and ninth grade art for twenty-one years at Woodland Junior High in Fayetteville Arkansas.  He is currently teaching Ceramics I at Fayetteville High School. He was born and raised in the Chicagoland area.  At the age of thirteen he moved with his parents to Rogers, Arkansas, and then attended high school at Subiaco Academy in Subiaco, Arkansas.  He earned his bachelors of Arts Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1993, and earned his Masters of Art Education from Boston University. In his free time James enjoys cooking, growing small trees in pots, making hand built functional stoneware vessels, encaustic painting, and printmaking. ​

Allie Robbins                                             Kelly Emerson

My name is Allie Robbins I'm a graduate from Arkansas State University with a BFA in Art Education, emphasis on drawing and paint, and a minor in Art History. I am currently working on National Board Certification. I have been teaching Art for 6 years. My first 3 year I taught in West Memphis at West Junior High. I now teach in Jonesboro at Nettleton Junior High. I have been an AAE member for 6 years and have presented at conference for the last 4 years. I have presented on How to Create Frescos, Using sketchbooks in your classroom, and How to Make a simple Art Journal. I have loved being part of the AAE community and hope to continue to inspire and be inspired by my fellow art teachers!

Kelly Emerson started teaching art 25 years ago at the Jonesboro Foundation of Arts where she was also a costume and set designer. During this time, she taught art to special needs adults through the foundation’s ARTS ALIVE program. Before Arkansas had elementary art teachers, she taught art as a volunteer in the Jonesboro Public school system.  When Jonesboro Public schools began their pre-school program in 2005, she began teaching art part-time to 3 and 4 year olds.  In 2010, she started the Arkansas APPEL program and taught elementary art full-time. In 2011, she moved to North Little Rock to teach in the Pulaski County School District.  She has been a member of AAE and NAEA since 2011 and presented at the 2015 state conference.   
Kelly Emerson graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BA, and has two masters degrees from Arkansas State University. She is an Arkansas Arts in Education teaching Artist, and an Arkansas A+ Advocate.

Don Williams                                              Marc Sloan

Don Williams graduated from Memphis College of Art in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in photography.  In December 2012, he received his Masters in Gifted, Talented and Creativity from Arkansas State University.  He is an active member of the Art Educators Association and currently serves on the state council as High School Representative. He presents workshops every year at the local and state level. As an artist, Williams has worked in mixed media, printmaking, and photography.  Williams currently lives in Forrest City Arkansas where he has taught at the local high school for the last 25 years.
